Signs give man his characteristics, traits and tendencies. The tests of a sign come cyclically whenever re-evaluation is necessary. You are then searching for your higher Self. The deepest tribulations of a sign reflect as spiritual illumination. A sign may, through reflex action, manifest through the opposite characteristics. When one recognises a negative aspect of a sign within one'’ character, nourish that part of ones thinking until you accomplish full understanding. For fuller spiritual development you should meditate on your signs set up to gain insight as to how you can turn away from the personal emphasis and turn toward ~other~ or group consciousness. You will feel a terrific need to renounce the weakness of your Moon’s sign; only when this is accomplished can the soul move forward in a leadership capacity. It is important to remember that each sign has traits of the previous sign in latency, there for you to draw upon positively or negatively.

You are described fully through your natal horoscope - the wheel of this incarnation - and you are striving to move forward sign by sign through successive reincarnations. When you respond negatively, you are of course reverting to previous influences. Which is always easier than moving ahead. However, the spiritually evolved man is an exception. He is at the point of the fourth initiation and nearing perfection, therefore the magnetism of his wheel is reversed. That is to say a Capricorn’s positive inclination would be pulled towards Sagittarius. The spiritual man who has not reached that elevation of perfection {most have not} is struggling towards his following sign and is tempted periodically to revert to the previous one.

Characteristics, like life, move in a gradual process. The Sun is in one sign, moves through another, and on and on.

The Sun sign of the average man brings out the superficiality of that sign, but the spiritually evolved man is different. His actions also register through the opposite sign, such as the Pisces Sun delivering the Virgo type service where work is a joy and service is eagerly given. Now the spiritual initiates wheel is reversing. He advances through the sign behind his. This clarifies the Esoteric view, learned through the teachings of the Tibetan of the reverse wheel. It is easier to remember that the Soul evolves through the wheel clockwise from Aries to Pisces to Taurus whilst the Personality evolves from Aries to Taurus to Gemini. Once the antahkarana has been built, the personality or outer man follows the soul on the reversed wheel.

To explain further, the spiritual Virgo would be evolving through the self conscious sign of Leo, where the personality is swallowed by the soul {this can happen only when the reversed horoscope has been earned}. So, then, evolving through Leo, the devotion would pour forth through the knowledge seeking sign of Aquarius, when he can spill his ethers over onto humanity for the hierarchy’s intentions.

In the Universal sense, the seven Rays focus through man and are responsible for seven basic temperaments. All of us have our individual rays - the monad, soul, mental, astral and the physically related personality ray. That is, the personality functions through the brain, emotions, and mind. The monad ray is the constant factor, or unchanging ideal, and continues to charge~ the soul ray through its divine secretions. The soul ray is the interior urge awaiting release through the personality’s awareness. This astral ray is the motivation utilised on that plane whilst in the sleep state.

There is then the greater all-encompassing picture which speaks to us of collective cosmic intentions as the rays focus through the twelve astrological signs. The seven Rays or expressions of ~will~ will energies are of humanitarian consequence and providing direction for all men as they filer through the signs of our solar system.

All rays motivate group consciousness and motivate toward the ideal expression of pure intention which is hardly possible due to the rays themselves being impinged upon, and filtered on their way to us.

To personality belongs the desire and characteristics brought over from past lives. Soul creates pressure {motivation} for spiritual unfoldment. The conflicting karma can be seen as the personality tending to present outward conditions resulting from past life desires, while the soul is pressing from within for expression {divine right} as it seeks to awaken the personality to greater heights - the upward climb to perfection.

These energies issue their ideal expression through all twelve signs, however certain signs are more receptive to a ray’s energy than others. This is largely due to the signs characteristics. Some lend themselves more readily than others for a particular expression of ~will~ to manifest.

We are all learning with the intention of increasing our knowledge and in so doing when we have increased knowledge we are broadening the scope of our mental plane {the soul’s medium of contact}. When the overall picture is impressed upon us we may become more deeply concerned with the reasons of other men’s being. We are all servants to one another. For perfection we need knowledge. The more we study, the more frequent and fertile our illumination becomes. As all rays focus through all signs, our reception is continual and complete. The rays are networks of light as divinity expressed through us, as we can receive them at our present level of consciousness.
